    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tInformation Services for Visually Impaired Readers\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe National Library and Documentation Services Board (NLDSB), in collaboration with the \nDaisy Lanka Foundation, commenced a dedicated information service for visually handicapped \nreaders at the National Library. The primary objective of this service is to facilitate equitable \naccess to information by providing specialised resources and facilities tailored to their needs. \nThe service includes a growing collection of audiobooks and specialised databases relevant to \nvisually impaired users. It was officially inaugurated on 20 October 2014 at the National Library \nand plans to expand this service to other libraries across the country through mutual \nagreements in the future. \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Reference Service supports users by providing access to the entire National Library \ncollection, based on individual information needs.     \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe National Library responds to a wide range of inquiries from readers and researchers, \nincluding: \n

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThrough its Inter-Library Loan (ILL) Service, the National Library extends access to information \nresources to researchers, academics, and the general public across Sri Lanka.

      \nIf required material is unavailable in a local library, it may be obtained from the National Library \nvia inter-library loan. Loans are extended only to libraries, not to individuals, and are currently \nfacilitated among public, university, and special libraries. \nParticipating libraries must sign an Inter-Library Loan Agreement prior to borrowing.
