Yogaratnakaraya. The palm leaf manuscript of Sri Lanka indigenous medical preparations composed in poetic form

Yogaratnakaraya is an indigenous medical textbook written in Sinhala Language belongs to Kotte era during the reign of King Buvanekabhahu VI (1470-1478). This is the first indigenous medical textbook composed in poetry form containing around 4557 verses. This book is a unique documentary heritage of the country due to its historical and literary value. As an authentic literary source this is an excellent textbook to understand the indigenous medical knowledge inherited by contemporary society and cross-border interactions between domestic culture and exotic knowledge systems. It is also a resourceful indigenous textual evident for historical development of traditional medicine.
