A CELTA-qualified Library and Information Science professional with qualifications in Business Development and Marketing, Viji joined the British Council in 1998 as a Library Intern in India. After 12 years in a range of library leadership roles, including Assistant Manager, Library and Senior Manager (South India), where she led library operations and customer services, shespent eight years as Head of Examinations, South India. Following a brief stint at IDP, Australia, leading Business Development for IELTS, Viji returned to the British Council as Director, Libraries, South Asia.

In her current role as Director Libraries (Global), British Council, she leads the strategy and coordination of the organization’s physical library network across the globe, as well as its Digital Library offer in more than 30 countries, driving innovation and expanding access to trusted learning and knowledge resources worldwide.
