IFLA nominated National Library of Sri Lanka as an IFLA PAC Centre
National Library of Sri Lanka has been nominated as a IFLA PAC Centre by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions. The nomination of IFLA PAC Centre took place in the inauguration ceremony of the 25th anniversary of the National Library of Sri Lanka held in hotel Taj Samudra in Colombo on 05th August 2015.
The inauguration of the IFLA PAC Centre was declared by Ms. Ngian Lek Choh, IFLA governing board member. The Governing Board of IFLA endorsed the creation of the PAC Centre in the National Library of Sri Lanka in its meeting held in April 2015. The new PAC Centre will be able to assist the region as well as other regions in need with issues on tropical climates and pest control and will organize workshops and training on these topics.
